YOUR PASTOR NOMINATING COMMITTEE (A.K.A. THE PNC) WANTS TO ASSURE YOU THAT WE ARE STEADILY MOVING TOWARD THE NOMINATION OF A NEW HEAD PASTOR.

Throughout this search process which began last September, we have been blessed with an encouraging display of interest from pastors across our country. After prayerful study and deliberation, we have been able to narrow our focus to a few individuals with whom we are now engaged in serious and productive conversations. We and each pastor through these discussions seek a full and mutual understanding of one another. In doing so, we are lifted by the Holy Spirit's presence and guidance. The PNC thanks you for your prayers and support as we all look forward to welcoming a pastor to help lead us in our mission: Loving God, loving people, making disciples.

ORGAN STATUS:

We are sure that many in our congregation have noticed that Krista has been playing the piano for the last few weeks and not the organ. The problem is that the electronic controls housed in the console have failed. The existing console and electronic controls will not be a part of the final restoration and any temporary repairs will involve additional cost. The restoration plan includes an entirely new console with new controls and that console is currently under construction. Given those circumstances, the Organ Sub-Committee does not recommend an attempt to repair the existing controls but will encourage Grooms & Payne to expedite completion of the new console. The Sub-Committee would also like to recommend that you stop by the Church library and browse the pictures of the progress made on our organ restoration project.

LIONS EYEGLASS RECYCLING:

Please bring your extra prescription glasses and readers or magnifiers for donation to the Lions Club Recycling Program based here in Roanoke. There is a collection box in Heritage Hall, below the Missions bulletin board. Thank you!

BRING IN YOUR PULL-UP TABS!

Temple Emanuel is still collecting pull-up tabs from canned goods for a future Holocaust Presentation. After the presentation they will donate all of the tabs to The Ronald McDonald House for their fundraising efforts. We appreciate any donations you can make. There is a container for collection in Heritage Hall, below the Missions bulletin board. Thank you!

COUPON DONATIONS:

Do you discard coupons from the mail and newspapers each week? Our nursery care provider, Diana Carter, will happily accept your unwanted coupons and donate them to organizations in the community to assist people in need. A box for the coupons is located below the Missions bulletin board
in Heritage Hall.

CHURCH SAFETY:

The front doors will be kept locked when there is no volunteer in Heritage Hall. If you find the front doors locked during regular office hours, please ring the bell on the right wall so we can let you in!

TIME FOR CENTERING PRAYER

What is Centering Prayer? Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to experience God’s presence within us. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer. Rather, it adds a depth of meaning to all other ways of praying. Centering Prayer emphasizes prayer as a personal relationship with God and as a movement beyond conversation with Christ to a deeper, and peaceful communion with Him. A group for Centering Prayer meets every Wednesday afternoon, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, and every Thursday evening, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, in the Red Room. If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact Judi Barnes.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

Weather-related cancellations for church services and activities will be posted on television stations WDBJ7 and WSLS10, and listed on our church website and social media.
